What it does
The AI receptionist answers in your tone, captures what the conversation gave up, and hands off to a human when its own confidence drops. The model provider is abstracted from day one, so the connector is a credential rather than a coupling.
Doc 6 puts it second in the build order because the AI receptionist is the paid tier, and it needs no OAuth, no review and no vendor gate.
Connecting it
API key. OpenAI has no third-party OAuth for API access, so there is no consent screen and nothing to review.
What to know before you rely on it
- Bring your own key, or use ours
- On the hosted path we meter and bill the conversation. On a key you paste, usage never counts against your AI-conversation quota and never appears on our invoice.
- A pasted key is shown once
- It is validated on save with a one-token completion, encrypted at rest, and displayed thereafter as its last four characters only.
